McNamara returns from injury

Top amateur jockey Robbie McNamara returns from injury at Listowel on Saturday where he rides New Rules for his employer Dermot Weld.

McNamara, who injured his back when his stirrup leather broke after passing the finishing line on sixth placed Aztec Pearl in a bumper at Wexford on May 7, reported "my back is 100% again and I'll be back race-riding again from Saturday."

The tall amateur added "I've been riding out for a while now and my weight is good - I can ride at 11st3lbs, given a day or two notice. " Twenty one year old McNamara partnered 18 winners last season, including the Champion Bumper at Punchestown, and has effectively become first choice jockey to Dermot Weld's jumps horses.
