John Thomas McNamara was seen to good effect when winning The George Fitzmaurice Hunters Chase aboard 6/4 favourite Greenfield Noel of Michael Winters.
McNamara soon led on the Germany gelding, clear from halfway, made a bad mistake 6 out and reduced advantage, strongly pressed entering straight, headed last but under a strong drive by McNamara the pair managed to get up close home and deny Kevin Power aboard Top Twig
The winning trainer Michael Winters was absent as he is in Kinsale.
