Meade considers options for Muirhead Noel Meade is considering stepping Muirhead up in trip after his disappointing display at Leopardstown on Tuesday. The six-year-old finished fifth of the six runners in the December Festival Hurdle, won by Solwhit. Meade has also given him a speculative entry in the Irish Arkle. "I was very disappointed with him. Maybe we made a mistake in riding him the way we did," said Meade. "Paul (Carberry) and Davy (Condon) had a chat and thought rather than setting it up for the others we'd drop him in. "I didn't think they went that slow but at the same time I'm disappointed. "We've been aiming very high with him because that's how good we thought he was but maybe he needs to come down a grade. Maybe that's what we'll do. "I have actually entered him in the Irish Arkle but I don't think I'll go that way, we'll see, it's only tentative. "The Red Mills (Gowran, February 13th) could be next but he might go up to two and a half miles as he stayed on well at Cheltenham. "It was probably a mistake to miss the Hatton's Grace but there you go."
