Medicean Man has Sapphire option A trip to Ireland could be next in line for King's Stand Stakes runner-up Medicean Man. The nine-year-old put in a career-best performance when going down by a nose to Goldream in the five-furlong Group One contest on the opening day of Royal Ascot. Following his fine effort in defeat, trainer Jeremy Gask is considering the Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh next month. Gask said: "There is a chance he could head to Ireland for the Sapphire Stakes, but plans are still up in the air at the moment. "The Nunthorpe is a possibility, but I don't really think that it is his track. We will just have to wait and see how he comes out of the race."
