Aidan O'Brien and Mick Kinane continued their current rich vein of form by combining to land the opening two-year-old Fermoy Fillies Maiden at Cork yesterday with newcomer Reach For The Moon. The triumphant daughter of Pulpit stormed clear inside the final furlong and she will now graduate to Stakes company.
Johnny Murtagh partnered his first winner for Co Kildare trainer Gerry Stack by steering the former Lingfield all-weather winner After Shock to success in the five-furlong Doneraile Handicap. Incidentally, this was Stack's first winner at the course.
Murtagh later went onto complete a brace by landing the Beech Median Auction Maiden with the John Oxx-trained Dolce Vita and the daughter fo Tagula will now be aimed at a twelve-furlong handicap.
