Review 116/1 DOUBLE FOR BARRY GERAGHTY - KILBEGGAN 11TH AUG

Barry Geraghty completed a 116/1 double at Kilbeggan yesterday evening but only after Jumbo Beauty was disqualified for weighing in light in the Tullamore Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Jumbo Beauty, ridden by Willie Slattery for his brother Andy, drew clear in the straight for a four length `winning` margin over Treasure Cove. However, the saddle cloth came off the five-year-old after the third last flight resulting in Slattery weighing in over a pound light.

The amended result provided former champion jump jockey Joe Byrne with a first winner since renewing his training licence this year. 'It`s not the way I wanted to win but that`s racing,' said Byrne, who will revert his charge to the Flat for a nine furlong handicap at Tramore on Monday.

Sail Away Sailor completed the Geraghty double in decisive fashion when ridden clear after three out in the Genesis Fine Arts Handicap Hurdle for an easy three length victory over Scallybuck. 'He is tough and stays well,' said trainer Tim Doyle, whoadded: 'That`s his second win over the course and distance this year, and he will be back here again in a fortnight.'

Former champion Charlie Swan got the tactics just right aboard Wall St Station in the Hibernian Insurance Handicap Hurdle, making all and building up a huge lead to come home unchallenged by a distance from Shuil Tintreach.

The jackpot pool, boosted by a carryover of over #12,000, swelled to #41,416, and the eight lucky punters waiting on 11/8 favourite Misty Moments in the Innkeepers Beginners Chase received a dividend of #3,882.70.
