The Tommy Stack-trained Gmac (9-2), fifth on his recent jumps debut, stepped up on that as he led at the third-last under Alan Crowe and kept going strongly to beat favourite Ballyglasheen by six lengths in the Tadgh Clifford Groundcare 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle.

Mick Winters' Another Rebel (10-1) led all the way under Martin Ferris to win a dramatic running of the McSweeney Arms Hotel Handicap Hurdle by four lengths, surviving a scare at the last when a loose horse careered across the track in front of him.
