Review LEOPARDSTOWN 1ST JUN

Another decent sprint prize went for export, at Leopardstown, as English raider La Cucaracha claimed the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes.

Michael Hills produced the filly on the outside to lead at the furlong pole and the daughter of Piccolo kept on well to hold the late challenge of Alexander Icequeen by half a length.

The Barry Hills-trained winner was well supported throughout the day and was backed from 6/1 to 9/2 on course. Fellow raider Kind was sent off 13/8f and was just headed for second on the line.

12/1 shot Lord Admiral didn't attract much attention before the Listed Glencairn Stakes but proved an easy winner on his return to action.

Charles O'Brien's colt was settled in rear, under Fran Berry, before cruising into the lead inside the final furlong and recording a comfortable two-length verdict over Mustameet.

Royal Ascot (at York) is on the agenda for Ivan Denisovich after an impressive performance in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

The Ballydoyle colt was sent off a prohibitive price (1/4f) and never looked in trouble as he quickened smartly, a furlong-and-a-half out, to beat Andramad by four-and-a-half lengths.

Kieren Fallon recorded a double when landing the Sommerville Handicap on Enfield Chase.

He kicked for home over three furlongs out on the Tommy Stack-trained gelding and kept him going in the straight to beat Inspectors Choice by a length-and-a-half.

Mick Kinane also landed a double courtesy of Zarandja and Oodachee.

John Oxx's Zarandja made all to open her account in the Kingston Maiden while Oodachee prevailed in a tight finish to the Newton Handicap for Charlie Swan.
