Review WEXFORD 13TH MAY

The Ballydoyle team moved to Wexford tonight where Kieren Fallon helped add a little glamour to proceedings, winning the Ellen Construction Maiden on Aidan O'Brien's regally bred Streets Of Gold.

By Sadler's Wells and out of 1992 English Oaks winner User Friendly, Streets Of Gold was a drifter in the market, eventually going off the = favourite (from 2/7) but had little difficulty defeating his 15 rivals.

Streets Of Gold raced in third before making smooth headway to lead early in the straight, with Fallon simply riding the colt out with hands and heels for an easy two length win over Impartial.

Trainer David Wachman landed the Club Vitae Leisure Club with Double Bay who was produced by Wayne Lordan to lead inside the final furlong to deny well backed 9/4 favourite Cloneden by one length.

Jessica Harrington's Tycoon Hall was the well supported winner of the opening Quality Hotels Ireland Maiden Hurdle.

Formerly useful on the Flat, Tycoon Hall needed a good jump at the final flight to see off the challenge of Feel Good Factor by a length and a half.

Feel Good Factor's colours (Gigginstown Stud), were carried to victory in the next, the Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre Hurdle, by Dessie Hughes' Akhtaki, under Paddy Flood.

At Downpatrick, jockey Dennis O'Regan landed a 155/1 double, riding a winner for his employer Noel Meade as well as for Co Westmeath restricted license holder Thomas Cleary.

O'Regan was on board Cleary's mare Diamond Forever in the Toal Bookmakers Beginners Chase.

Michael Darcy, on April Allegro, looked as though his front running tactics were about to pay off before being headed close home by the surprise 25/1 winner.

Half an hour later, O'Regan, was again seen at his best, steering Meade's Corskeagh Thunder to a comfortable win in the Boru Vodka Handicap Chase.

Trainer Tom Hogan has made an excellent start to the new Flat season and the Co Tipperary trainer made the trip north a worthwhile one when his Faithlegg Girl landed the the Magners Cider Handicap.

The daughter of Desert Style, who was due to go up by 16lbs following her win at Killarney four days ago, carried a mandatory 5lb penalty to win here, just held on for a fast diminishing neck win over Brandon Mountain.

The first race was delayed by 15 minutes due to traffic congestion although most punters would still have preferred to have stayed in the car, with the 1m4f maiden going to unconsidered 33/1 shot Kharmani, under Padraig Beggy.
