Melbourne Cup second reappears at Limerick

Melbourne Cup runner-up Goodie Two Shoes makes her seasonal reappearance in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Martin Molony Stakes, the highlight on an eight-race card at Limerick this evening.

Joseph O’Brien is enjoying a very successful week at Royal Ascot and the JP McManus-owned mare spearheads a strong challenge by his powerful yard in this €50,000 feature which also includes Leinster and Uxmal.

Goodie Two Shoes, who completed a hat-trick last year when landing the Group 3 Stanerra Stakes, was last seen beating all bar Half Yours at Flemington last November while Chally Chute, Happy Pharaoh and New Zealand are all interesting rivals in this competitive 1m4f event.

The Twilight Racing Summer Series Maiden has been divided to form the eight-race card with division one getting the action underway at 4.10pm.

Following 18mm of rain in the last 24 hours the going at the Greenmount Park track is now, yielding, yielding to soft in places. It is raining at present with the possibility of 4mm (approx.) today.

Down Royal also hosts a Flat card this evening with a seven-race card beginning at 5.10pm, and Chris Hayes could be a jockey to follow with a strong book of rides including Tradewinds in the opener.

The going at the northern venue is now good to yielding, yielding in places, following 10mm of rain. There is the possibility of 4-6mm (approx.) prior to racing today.
