Melbourne Cup top of Coolmore's bucket list Coolmore Australia principal Tom Magnier has spoken of a burning desire to win the Emirates Melbourne Cup on Tuesday. Aidan O'Brien has never claimed the great staying race, but the gifted Ballydoyle trainer has two realistic chances this year when Bondi Beach and Kingfisher take the plunge. For Coolmore, too, the Melbourne Cup is now seemingly towards the top of their list of priorities. "There's no race anywhere in the world that you'd rather win," Magnier said. "Everybody has a bucket list in this industry and I think the Melbourne Cup's on it. "There's no race anywhere in the world that has the build up like the Melbourne Cup, it's fantastic and a credit to Australia. "When you picture a trophy in racing, there's only one you can picture and that's the Melbourne Cup. "It's unique and one of the great races around the world that's recognised right around the world."
