Metamorpheus opens his Flat account The Andy McNamara-trained Metamorpheus stuck out his head in the closing stages to claim a game victory in the Web The Tool Company Handicap at Sligo. Jamie Orr produced his mount to challenge a furlong out in the ten furlong contest and he battled it out in the closing stages with She’s Ideal. The Morpheus gelding found a bit more close home to secure a neck victory. It was a second career victory for the seven-year-old, his first on the Flat and first for McNamara. McNamara said "He just about got there, but we had a plan and Jamie carried it out to perfection. “His agent Dave Keena recommended him, so I watched a couple of videos and liked what I saw. "When I was riding, I loved to be handy around here so that's where I wanted Jamie to be. "He's a very honest horse and he'll probably mix it. He has run over fences, but he's a bit handy-sized for that, so we'll probably stick to the Flat and hurdles." (Quotes by Mark Nunan)
