Meyler doubles his tally on well-bred Jerrari Earlier successful aboard Young Churchill, Donagh Meyler doubled-up on Jerrari in the REMAX Team Earley Handicap Hurdle. A never nearer second when last seen at Kilbeggan, the Jessica Harrington-trained five-year-old was well-fancied to go a place better this evening and was returned the 4/1 favourite in the colours of the Mount Temple Three Syndicate. Settled in mid-division and taking closer order from four out, the 97-rated bay wasn't fluent over the third last, but came with his challenge from the next. Ridden and gaining a narrow lead before the final flight, he ultimately powered clear on the run-in, winning by three-and-three-quarters of a length. The Gavin Cromwell-trained Pamper Lady (8/1) filled the runner-up spot under Conor Stone-Walsh (replacing the stood down Keith Donoghue), while Listowel winner Patty O'Farrell (11/2) was another two-and-a-half lengths back in third. "Fair play to the lads, he hasn't been straightforward and they've stuck by him," Meyler reflected.. "He ran a blinder the last day but his jumping might have let him down a little bit. That definitely wasn't a factor today, he jumped very well and travelled well and hit the line well. "It's great to get those ones." Bred by Gerry McGrath, the winner is out of an unraced half-sister to Jezki. STEWARDS REPORT * Mr B.T. Stone, rider of Applejack Poet, trained by Liz Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped early on, kicked his feet out of his stirrups and struggled to pull up.
