A step up in trip reaped dividends for Midnight Fairy in the Tipperary Races On Twitter Handicap Hurdle over 3m1f.

She certainly got the trip as she finished well to nab Joe's Turn

Joe's Turn made eye-catching headway after two out and jumped the last in the lead. He was ridden to go on by Phillip Enright, but Midnight Fairy was soon on his tail.

She finished off best of all close home for John Shinnick to get up in the final strides by a neck at 4/1 backed in from 6s. Runner-up Joe's Turn (11/2) did little wrong off 6lb higher for winning at Kilbeggan last month. Each-way players drew dividends from County Champs (9/1) and Lummi Island (11/1) in third and fourth respectively.

Terence O’Brien said: “The same syndicate (TerenceOBrien Racing Syndicate) had Stellar Symphony beaten a neck last weekend in Cork, so it was good to land on the other side of it today.

“She’s a mare we lease from Edmond Kent. We have a couple of syndicates on the go and these lads have been involved for the last couple of years.

“We have great fun, and you can see they really enjoy it.

“We’ll tip away with her for the summer and she’s a fine big mare so she might jump a fence too. The trip suited her, and she kept galloping.”
