Mile Likely For Gerard

Sir Gerard is more likely to run in the totesport Mile at Goodwood on Friday rather than in a Listed race a day later.

Trainer James Fanshawe revealed today he favoured the valuable mile handicap for the three-year-old instead of the Vodafone Thoroughbred Stakes.

Fanshawe said: 'I have studied the entries for both races and am favouring Friday's race. The horse seems in great form.'

Sir Gerard is a best-priced 5-1 favourite for the Mile following his victory in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot.
