Miles on course for Galway Ladies Derby winner Miles To Memphis is all set to line up in the Connacht Hotel Qualified Riders Handicap on the opening night of the Galway Festival on Monday. Denise Foster's useful dual-purpose performer opened his account on the Flat with a runaway maiden success at Leopardstown last month and followed up in the Ladies Derby at the Curragh in the hands of Cheltenham Festival-winning rider Lisa O'Neill. Whether O'Neill will be on board the ex-Alan King-trained eight-year-old again at Ballybrit depends on her boss, Gordon Elliott. Foster said: "Miles To Memphis came out of the Ladies Derby really, really well. I'm very happy with him. "He is fresh and well, we haven't done a lot with him since. It's all systems go for Galway on Monday for the feature race. "Lisa (O'Neill) is my first choice for the ride, but it depends on Gordon Elliott. I have talked to Lisa and she will just have to wait and see what Gordon's plans are. "We don't know how he'll handle Galway until we've tried it. Certainly he is very good around a galloping track. He has to be handy enough so I don't want him in the middle of it all. I'd like him to have a bit of space. "Whether the track will suit him would be the big question mark in my head. Obviously the track doesn't suit a lot of horses, but we'll give it a go. He is an eight-year-old and is well-balanced, so I'd be hopeful. "His owner Jules Sigler lives in Canada, but he is hoping to be over for the race."
