Mills pays up for Funny Funny Valentine was a surprise addition to the field for the Darley July Cup today. The three-year-old, who runs in a Listed race at Sandown tomorrow, was supplemented for Thursday`s Newmarket Group One contest by Terry Mills at a cost of Stg£15,000. He finished third at 100-1 in the King`s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot last month but was then beaten favourite for a handicap at Ascot four days later. Henry Cecil`s Shibboleth was a more expected supplementary entry today, having already been quoted at 3-1 'with a run' for the six-furlong event by the Tote. The four-year-old won a Group Three contest over seven furlongs at Newmarket last Saturday. Aidan O`Brien`s Mozart is current favourite for the July Cup, in which other likely runners include his stable-companion Minardi and Cork And Orrery Stakes winner Harmonic Way.
