Miracle ends Sydney's winning run Sydney Paget's winning run was ended by Eddie's Miracle in the Ballywalter Farms Open at Ballinaboola on Sunday. Pat Doyle's prolific winner was sent off favourite to make it six wins in-a-row, but he ultimately had to settle for second behind David Christie's nine-year-old. Successful here in February when trained by Eddie Keating, the winning son of Beat The Drums also came home in front on his debut for Christie at Largy in April. He since added wins at Broughshane and Necarne, finishing second on his most recent effort at Dowth Hall last month. Settled behind the leaders by Barry O'Neill, he got to the front before three out and despite running around a bit, he kept on best to score by three lengths. The winning handler said of the Ray Nicholas owned gelding: "We weren't happy with him after the last day and it turned out he had a bit of an infection. "He is improving and he will go to the track for a hunters chase at Cork next. That really has been the aim for him this autumn."
