Miss Tempo overcame an absence of 15 months when making all to land the Thanks To All Our Sponsors In The National Hunt Season Handicap Hurdle at Naas this afternoon.

The Milan mare won a point-to-point for Harry Kelly in 2020 and was first past the post in a Tramore maiden hurdle the following year only to subsequently lose the race due to a banned substance.

Mikey O’Connor was seen to good effect aboard the 14/1 chance in this near 2m3f event with Henry de Bromhead’s charge keeping on well from before the last to beat Danesfort Mayfly by three lengths. Everystep Oftheway was a further half-a-length back in third, with Memory Of Youth completing the places when finishing strongly in fourth.

O’Connor said, “The plan was to make it. She is a forward going mare so we said we’d pop out and keep things simple with her.

“She came here fit and well. We thought that she might take the run but she ran on well. She’s a tough mare, puts her head down and stays going.”
