Teddy Grimthorpe admits the fact Noble Mission is Frankel's full-brother had a say in the reasoning behind his supplementary entry into the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday.

Lady Cecil's five-year-old is in the form of his life at present having won the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown and the Huxley Stakes at Chester.

He will step into Group One company for the very first time this weekend but Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah, feels if Frankel's brother can add a Group One win to his record, he would become a very valuable stallion prospect in his own right.

"There are several factors (as to why he was supplemented)," Grimthorpe told At The Races.

"First is the horse's well being, secondly he's won two Group Threes and he was impressive, I thought, at Chester and a mile and a quarter seems to suit him.

"It's hard to say whether the ground is a factor or not, he certainly doesn't seem to mind going on it (softer).

"The Tattersalls Gold Cup is a very important race and from that point of view we are dealing with Frankel's full-brother so, therefore, this is an opportunity while the horse is in good form to look at a Group One."
