Moltophino doubles his tally Moltophino (3/1F) stayed on strongly to take the honours in the Christmas Parties At Navan Racecourse on 6th & 13th December Handicap at Navan over the minimum trip. Chris Hayes' mount raced on the near side, behind the pace, before coming under pressure and surrendering first run under two furlongs out. The Agricola Ficomontanino & Leaf Stud-owned bay stayed on strongly to lead inside the final 100 yards, beating Namid (6/1) by three-quarters of a length. The pair pulled four lengths clear of Thunderbear (17/2) in third, who kept on after being outpaced two furlongs out. Winning trainer John Andrew Kinsella said: "He was unlucky in the big sprint in the Curragh (Rockingham) over five (furlongs) earlier in the year. "I'd say that is a good filly, Bear On The Run, of Danny Murphy's that beat him the last day over six (furlongs) in the Curragh. I'd say she is a Listed filly, and I always thought that horse might be a Listed horse. "He was down to a weight and a mark where he should be winning. I thought he would win today. "He goes with a bit of dig in it, and we might go for the Joe McGrath (Curragh) maybe." Additional reporting by Michael Graham.
