Monarch confirmed for French Derby Imperial Monarch will represent Ballydoyle in Sunday's French Derby at Chantilly. It was confirmed on Twitter this morning that Joseph O'Brien will ride the colt for his father Aidan in the Prix du Jockey Club. The unbeaten Galileo colt produced an impressive performance to take the Sandown Classic Trial on his return to action last month. The colt, who was having only his second start, raced alone on the wide outside and gave his rivals a substantial lead before picking them up close home.
