Monvoe records back-to-back wins for Cody A winner at Limerick last time, the Ray Cody trained Monvoe made it back-to-back victories when landing the Leopardstown Friday Night Social Apprentice Handicap. Owned by Claire O'Donovan, the 8/1 chance sat mid division in the early stages, before making headway to track the leaders entering the home straight. Pushed along to lead over a furlong out, the Reese Holohan partnered three-year-old kept on strongly inside the final furlong to score by three-lengths. Cody said: "I'm delighted with him. To be honest, I thought the 10lb for the last day might stop him. He was very disappointing last year. A lot of lads rode him and, they didn't like him. For some reason he's after turning the corner. He came back in this year and, he probably got stronger. Even in Limerick, I wasn't too sure what to expect. The ground was probably a bit dead but he won well. "Limerick just gave him that bit of confidence and, the quicker ground today was always going to be in his favour. The quicker the better for him. He's nice horse going forward and, that'll do his confidence the world of good now, two nice wins in a row."
