Moonlight Boy got a lovely run down the inside to romp away with the Pegus Horse Feed Point-To-Point Series Final at Cork.

With half a mile to go in this two and a half mile race there was fully 10 horses in contention, but once Colman Sweeney asked for his effort on Moonlight Boy (4/1jf) he powered away. Double Irish (9/2) and Our Man Zebo (4/1jf) were left trailing in second and third respectively. The winning distance was four and a half lengths.

Aidan Kennedy trains the six-year-old and he said: “He’s fairly decent. After his run at Dromahane we had to do a bit more to sell him. He’ll go to Brightwells sales now.

“I thought he might struggle on the ground, but he’s a pacey horse.”
