Moore in the mix for HK competition Ryan Moore will represent the UK in a stellar line-up of 12 riders from around the world who will gather in Hong Kong for the Longines International Jockeys' Championship on December 4. The three-times British champion, who displayed his talents to good effect in the Breeders' Cup, shared the prize in 2009 and won it outright in 2010. He will take on such talented riders from across the globe as legendary North American veterans Gary Stevens and Mike Smith as he goes for a third success in this prestigious competition. The other riders to receive invitations are Christophe Soumillon, Maxime Guyon, Kerrin McEvoy, Douglas Whyte, Joao Moreira, Suguru Hamanaka and Mirco Demuro along with two Hong Kong-based jockeys yet to be decided. The winner of the four-race contest at Happy Valley will receive HK 500,000 with the second taking HK 200,000 and the third HK 100,000. "The line-up for is about as A-list as it gets," said William A Nader, the Hong Kong Jockey Club's executive director of racing. "It says much about the prestige of this important international event that we have a line-up of some of the world's great riders, all coming into the IJC in outstanding form."
