Moore on the mend Ryan Moore continues to make good progress as he bids to return to the saddle before the end of the season. Moore suffered a broken humerus and a broken thumb in a three-horse pile-up at Goodwood on July 30, with the injuries having put paid to his chances of being crowned champion jockey in the UK for a fourth time. Whether he will be back in the saddle in time to ride Workforce when he defends his title in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October remains unclear, but his father, trainer Gary Moore, is pleased to be able to issue a positive update on his son's recovery. "I've spoken to Ryan this afternoon and he's told me the specialist was very pleased with the X-ray results and happy with the amount of movement he had in his upper shoulder," said Moore senior. "He'll see the specialist again in two weeks and we'll know more again then."
