Moore to miss Irish Champion Ryan Moore will miss the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes and a host of top-class races at the beginning of the Ladbrokes St Leger meeting after being handed an eight-day suspension for careless riding at York. The English champion jockey will be out of action between September 3rd and 10th, meaning he will return to the saddle on the eve of the final Classic of the season. Sir Michael Stoute's jockey was partnering Red Badge in the DBS £300,000 St Leger Yearling Stakes and moved right in the closing stages, causing Neil Callan to be unseated from 3-1 favourite Rodrigo De Torres. Stipendiary steward Tony McGlone said: "Ryan Moore received an eight-day suspension for careless riding as we viewed his move to the right to be at the top end of the scale. "We started off at dangerous riding and worked our way down from there. "The range for careless riding is from a caution to a nine-day suspension." Moore currently tops the jockeys' table with 125 wins, some 24 clear of nearest rival Richard Hughes, but he is dangerously close to a longer holiday. His ban takes him up to 21 days suspended for careless riding during the previous 12 months, meaning he is just three days away from being referred to the British Horseracing Authority.
