More Oaks options for Nua after Curragh placed effort Jim Bolger is weighing up options for Sparan Nua after a fine run to finish third in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks at the Curragh ten days ago. The Dawn Approach filly had to overcome some traffic in running to grab a place in the classic behind Johanna Walsh and is now set to travel to tackle another Group 1 prize. The Yorkshire Oaks on August 20th is the most likely target but the Preis der Diana next Sunday in Dusseldorf is also a possibility. When asked if he was delighted by her run in the Irish Oaks Bolger said:- “I was. She’s improving all the time. “If I was a really good trainer I’d be waiting until next year but we’ll hopefully win a couple in the meantime. “I’d say by this time next year you might be talking about the Arc. “She doesn’t know really how to do it, she’s had very little galloping. She came to hand quickly and we just gave her a run, she started winning and we kept going. “I’d say there is a lot of improvement to come. “We got an invitation to Dusseldorf for the German Oaks so we’ll consider that now in the next few days and I’ll talk to Maurice Regan. “More likely I would say is the Yorkshire Oaks.”
