Morgan recorded his third victory when justifying favouritism in the Welcome To Wexford Racecourse Novice Hurdle.

Trained by Gordon Elliott for Giggintown, the Big Bad Bob gelding travelled well approaching the straight but was strongly pressed by Special Diamond at the penultimate flight.

Special Diamond held a slight lead when meeting the last wrong, and handed the initiative back to the 6/4 favourite.

Bryan Cooper ’s mount took full advantage and in fairness asserted well on the run-in to score by two and a quarter lengths.

There was a gap of nine lengths back to Rebelion Boy in third.

Cooper said, "He did it well and jumped exceptionally well. A strongly run two miles suits him, and he was entitled to win it on ratings.

"He is still a novice and there is plenty of races for him."
