Morny on Lady Aurelia's agenda

Wesley Ward has confirmed that impressive Queen Mary winner Lady Aurelia will not run in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

Bookmakers were handing out quotes of around even-money for the five-furlong Group One after the Scat Daddy filly blew her rivals away at Ascot on Wednesday.

However, Ward sent last year's Queen Mary winner Acapulco to take on her elders on the Knavesmire and she was beaten by Mecca's Angel.

"Her eyes are bright, her ears are pricked and she ate up everything," Ward told the Morning Line.

"We tried to win the Nunthorpe with a two-year-old filly last year and even getting all the weight, Acapulco couldn't do it.

"Acapulco is a big filly, Lady Aurelia is small. At this stage, I'd prefer to keep her against her own age group.

"We'll go down a more conventional route, as conventional as it can be for an American in Europe, and take her to the Prix Morny at Deauville, like we did with No Nay Never."
