Morse bids to bounce back in Railway

Samuel Morse returns to his happy hunting ground of the Curragh when he tries to get back to winning ways in the ladbrokes.com Railway Stakes on Sunday.

Successful on his first two starts at the HQ, the Aidan O'Brien-trained two-year-old then finished fourth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Stable jockey Johnny Murtagh rode the sixth home Zoffany in that race, but he is back in the saddle having won on him on his previous outing.

"I didn't ride him in Ascot, but Ryan (Moore) was very happy with him and he's a nice, big horse and he's coming back to the Curragh now," Murtagh told At The Races.

"He's in good form, he came out of the race well. It looks a competitive race this year - there are a lot of good horses in that race. We will know after the weekend where we stand with him.

"He's a horse I've always liked, the Curragh will suit him and I think he's one to follow for the year because there's still plenty left in him."

O'Brien added on www.coolmore.com: "The race is coming close enough after Ascot but he seems in good form."

Mick Channon's Chilworth Lad, who was fifth in the Windsor Castle at the Royal meeting, is one of two British entries.

The other is the Jeremy Noseda-trained Formosina, easy winner of a Doncaster maiden earlier this month after finishing third to Strong Suit at Newbury.

Ger Lyons' Clondinerry, Kevin Prendergast's unbeaten Longhunter, Tommy Stack's Woodcote Stakes scorer High Award, Dermot Weld's Oor Jock and the Jim Bolger-trained newcomer Glor Na Mara complete the eight-horse line-up.
