Morshdi doubtful for Leger

Morshdi, a leading fancy for the Rothmans Royals St Leger, is not a certain runner in the Doncaster contest, trainer Michael Jarvis has revealed.

His colt finished a fine second behind Galileo in the Budweiser Irish Derby, but only came home a well-beaten eighth behind that horse in Saturday`s King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot.

'We will see how Morshdi comes out of the race,' Jarvis told the Racing Post. 'But I would advise punters against backing him at this stage.

'We will discuss it with his owner, Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, but at this moment he may well be kept to a mile and a half.'

The Slip Anchor colt was made 3-1 market leader for the final Classic of the season by Blue Square on the back of his effort at the Curragh.
