Morshdi wins German prize Morshdi, trained by Michael Jarvis, landed his second big success on foreign soil when he landed the UAE Grosser Preis von Baden in Germany today.Brought on the wide outside down the straight by Philip Robinson, the Derby Italiano winner swept past home-trained favourite Sabiango to win by around two lengths.Sabiango could manage only third in the end as the John Reid-ridden Boreal took the runner-up position in the Group One contest.Morshdi had finished a fine second to Galileo in the Budweiser Irish Derby earlier this season but disappointed when only eighth in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot on his latest run.'I was very happy throughout the race,' said a delighted Robinson. 'He quickened up well and is a very good horse.'Reid was also happy with the performance of the runner-up but was most impressed with the winner. He said: 'Obviously, I had a chance turning for home but the winner went by me very easily - he`s a good horse.'Andreas Wohler, trainer of Sabiango, as well as his more illustrious stablemate Silvano, said: 'I was quite happy. It was a slow-run race throughout and our horse is still a big baby and a bit one-paced.'But he battled on in the straight and wasn`t beaten far.'
