Mulholland reflects on worst day ever

John Mulholland, Galway's leading bookmaker, claimed yesterday's action at Ballybrit was one of his worst days ever, as he talked to George McDonagh on Jimmy Norman's Breakfast Show on Galway Bay FM.

He explained: "On course it was my worst day since I started myself out there. In the shops too it was a very bad day. It's a long week yet, we've lost this battle but the war goes on until the end of the week and then we'll see how it all pans out from there. I hope that it does not continue in the same vain as it has."

Mulholland continued: "It is encouraging to see the figures up though. Our cash on the track was about the same as last year. It was a great day; it is very encouraging to see people going back to the track again. We're hopeful that it keeps up - it is good for the game."
