Emmet Mullins has the Pertemps Network Final at the Cheltenham Festival as a long term target for Rocket Lad.

A dual bumper winner, the son of Olden Times made the breakthrough over flights at Gowran in October and had three subsequent winners directly behind.

He since disappointed when sent off favourite for a Listed contest at Cork, but was subsequently found to be lame when examined by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer post race.

"Rocket Lad was very disappointing in Cork but he was lame afterwards," Mullins commented.

"We thought we got to the bottom of it and we were planning on bringing him to Carlisle for a Pertemps qualifier but I wasn't happy with him and had to pull the plug on that.

"I don't know where we'll end up or how we'll get there but the long term aim would be something like the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham. We'll try to qualify him for that and hopefully he'll be up to it."
