Mullins has Phoenix in mind for Mento Tom Mullins will consider giving Mia Mento an outing at the Curragh on Monday week ahead of a possible tilt at the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes. The two-year-old daughter of Casamento created a big impression when making a successful racecourse debut at Leopardstown last week, for a trainer more known for his exploits in the National Hunt sphere. The victory came as no surprise to Mullins, who is contemplating giving his filly another run to discover whether a step up Group One company in the Phoenix Stakes on August 12th is realistic. Mullins said: "She came out of the race perfect. She didn’t have as hard a race as I thought she did, which was nice. "We went into the race very hopeful. I haven’t much to work her against, and it was nice to see her go and do it. "There's a winners’ race at the Curragh on Monday week that might be suitable. It will be against colts and geldings, but I think the conditions suit her quite well. "It might be nice to get another run into her and learn a bit more about her with a view to taking on the top boys in the Phoenix Stakes."
