Mullins returns at weekend

Jockey Emmet Mullins is to return to race-riding at the weekend, having been given the all-clear from a specialist this evening .

Mullins injured his shoulder in a fall from Portrait King at Thurles on Thursday but the injury is not as bad as first feared.

Mullins, who partnered a Cheltenham winner on Sir Des Champs recently, said "I went to see specialist Tadhg O'Sullivan at Waterford today and he says I'll be clear to resume riding out in a few days."

"I had a pin inserted following a fall last September and it 'kinked' in Thursday's fall. It is causing me some pain at the moment but I've been told they're happy with it to stay where it is."

In other news, Paul Townend is set to undergo an operation on a fractured collarbone on Tuesday.
