Champion trainer Willie Mullins has confirmed his four star performers from last season to be back in pre-training and to have summered well.

Mullins, and his stable jockey Paul Townend, completed a clean-sweep of the four principal races of the 2025/’26 season, having landed the Champion Hurdle with Lossiemouth, the Champion Chase with Il Etait Temps and Gold Cup with Gaelic Warrior, while I Am Maximus completed the feat in the English Grand National.

Mullins, who registered a Tramore treble today, reported “the winter horses are back in for the past few weeks and are doing their prep work at the moment. They’re walking and trotting at the moment and will begin cantering in September.

“Lossiemouth, Gaelic Warrior and Il Etait Temps summered on our own farm and are all in tip-top order while I Am Maximus summered in Martinstown (owner JP McManus' stud) and he came back looking magnificent. They are burly and a little sunburnt, but are in good nick.

“With the good weather at the moment, there will be no rush with them.”
