Munster Oaks next for in-form Bloomfield Bloomfield has Cork’s Munster Oaks next on her agenda after winning twice at Listed level already this season. Willie McCreery’s charge was second in a Group Three last term, and will step back up in class later this month, as long as the ground is suitable. “She’ll go for the Munster Oaks (June 17). Hopefully we’ll get a bit of rain by then, because that would be ideal for her,” said McCreery. “She’s much stronger this year, she’s a good strong filly and is taking her racing very well. She’s had a good start to the year hopefully she can continue. “She’s won over a mile and three-quarters so she’s quite versatile and the stronger she gets the more she gives.” Mary Tudor may take up her entry in the Darley Irish Oaks next month. The Godolphin-owned filly fluffed her lines in a trial for the Irish 1,000 Guineas but had earlier won the Salsabil Stakes over 10 furlongs and her trainer expects her to come into her own later in the season. “She’s 16:2 (hands) a big strapping filly, she’s still very angular. She’s grown and the more time we can give her the better,” said McCreery. “If we can be patient with her I think she can have a nice autumn campaign. “She’s had a little bit of a break, but is back cantering now and has put on another 10 or 15 kilos on her break. “She could be one for the Irish Oaks, as long as it’s not firm.”
