Murphy hoping for Zaarito clear round

Colm Murphy admits his main hope is that Zaarito completes the course in the Dr. P.J. Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The eight-year-old came to grief on his chasing debut at Thurles in November but then showed smart form to finish narrowly behind Captain Cee Bee at Naas, before recording a facile win at Leopardstown.

He was an early casualty on his latest appearance in the Irish Arkle but Murphy is pleased with his current condition.

"He was a little bit sore after it but he seems to be back to himself now and I'm very happy with him at the moment," Murphy told At The Races.

"I suppose on form he goes there with his chance, but I'm hoping for a clear round.

"Weapon's Amnesty ran very well the last day and you have to respect him, so we're more hopeful than confident.

"They are giving plenty of rain between now and the weekend but he shouldn't mind the ground as he's gone on soft and heavy."
