The second three-mile handicap on Fairyhouse's all-hurdles card was for horses rated 0-100 and Chanceitlucky showed great reserves of stamina to win in the hands of Kevin Healy.

By Yorgunnabelucky out of a mare by Mtoto, second to Tony Bin in the 24-runner Arc of 1988, the seven-year-old traded blows up front with Itsaworkinmaniam and dropped to third three out.

Soon pushed along as his fellow pacesetter cracked and dropped away, Chanceitlucky did the opposite and was back in front approaching the second-last.

Ridden clear before the last, Neil Rawle's homebred scored by three and three-quarter lengths from Comeonarchie .

“I was very happy with him coming here today. He's a hard horse to get fit and I never had him as fit as today,” said winning trainer Adrian Murray who, for a couple of seasons, was training plenty of horses for Amo Racing in collaboration with Robson de Aguiar.

“He wants good ground, and then they were all pulling out because of the ground. I said I'd take my chance.

“He winged hurdles on it and won well.

“We'll give him three weeks now. I ran him in Ballinrobe, his first run back after a break, and he ran a lovely race. I went back two weeks after and he ran very poorly. I blamed myself for coming back too quick.

“He's after having about five weeks of a break now and he just needs a bit of time.

“He'll definitely go jumping fences next year.”
