Murtagh Booked For Spinner Ces Bid

Tony Martin is set to be represented solely by Leg Spinner in Saturday's totesport.com Cesarewitch, with Arc Bleu and Top The Charts staying in County Meath.

Leg Spinner, currently allotted 8st 11lb in Newmarket's two-mile-two-furlong handicap and prominent in the market since the ante-post lists were formed, will be ridden by Johnny Murtagh.

After registering a smooth success in the Shergar Cup Stayers at Ascot in August, the six-year-old's participation was in doubt following a lacklustre showing over timber at Listowel.

But Martin has been satisfied with his charge since that no-show and is inclined to forgive Leg Spinner one bad run.

Martin said: 'As things stand at the moment, Leg Spinner runs and Johnny Murtagh will ride him.

'The others (Arc Bleu and Top The Charts) won't be concerned but he'll run, barring the ground going too soft or heavy at Newmarket. He's all right on yielding ground but not on softer.

'I'm very happy with him. Last time was a bit of a disappointment, but we'll just have to put that down as being one of those things.'

Leg Spinner is as short as 8-1 with a number of firms for the Cesarewitch but can be backed at 12s with Sky Bet.
