Murtagh to ride for Aga Khan Johnny Murtagh, who resigned his position as Aidan O'Brien's stable jockey recently, has been retained by the Aga Khan to ride all his horses in Ireland in 2011. The news, which broke on Monday afternoon, comes two days after Murtagh partnered the Ballydoyle trained Recital to win the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud in France. Murtagh held the position of stable jockey to the Aga Khan's primary trainer in Ireland, John Oxx, for many years before eventually moving to ride for Aidan O'Brien in 2008. The move will come as a blow to Fran Berry who had been appointed Oxx's stable jockey before the start of the current season.
