Mymomentintime springs a surprise on his return to action Jimmy Dalton has been among the winners recently and partnered another courtesy of 25/1 outsider Mymomentintime in the five furlong apprentice handicap at the Curragh. This seven-year-old was returning from an absence of 452 days and, indeed, only ran once last year. His sole previous victory came over course and distance four years ago. Buddy Batt was soon setting fast fractions and held a nice cushion racing to the final furlong. At this stage, Dalton was beginning to get a tune from Mymomentintime who started to get interested. The pursuer came home well inside the final furlong and as Buddy Batt was crying out for the line in the closing stages, he was collared close home by Mymomentintime who obliged by three quarters of a length from the 15/2 runner-up. Coincidental Glory (13/2) and Happy Henry (8/1) rounded out the placings in third and fourth respectively. Susan Finn said: "He was as fit as he actually ever was in his life. Bursting was his problem a couple of years ago. "He was due to run earlier in the year, but he put a splint out and was lame for two months. So maybe that time off might have helped him, I don't know. "Whether I'll come back here now the last day will be another thing. Sometimes we used to run him back and he used to quench. I'd say maybe he was bursting inward and we didn't know it. "He has plenty of ability and he still would have needed the run even though he looked ready enough. "He'll have bottom weight the next day and will be out of the handicap, but he loves that ground. With lightweights, you just don't know when they get a bit of confidence back in themselves again."
