NOSEDA MAY APPEAL

Trainer Jeremy Noseda is considering an appeal after he was found guilty of 'schooling in public' at Lingfield today.

Noseda was fined £1,000 by the stewards, jockey Jason Weaver banned for six days (February 26-28, March 1, 3 and 5) and Lucayan Monarch barred from racing for 30 days (February 19 to March 21 inclusive).

They were punished after their horse, a 6-1 chance, had finished fourth behind stablemate Flag Of Democracy (evens favourite) in the Bet Direct from Littlewoods Maiden Stakes.

The stewards interviewed Weaver and Noseda with the rider explaining he was instructed to get the colt in behind, teach him to race, and get the best possible placing.

Weaver said that having dropped him in behind the colt resented the kick back, dropped the bridle and ran green and tended to edge in behind horses.

Noseda said he was satisfied with Weaver`s riding and that the ride he gave accorded with his instructions.

The trainer said afterwards: 'I shall be consulting the owner Edward St George as to whether we will appeal or not.'

Paul Eddery won the race on Flag Of Democracy, who scored by three quarters of a length from Para Glider.
