Nafaath & Diavoleria in action at Ayr today

Nafaath, three times a winner on the level for Kevin Prendergast and an 80,000 guineas purchase out of Friarstown Stables, has his second start over hurdles today in the opener at Ayr, the Tennents Lager Maiden Hurdle.

A one-paced fifth on his hurdling bow at Doncaster 42 days back, the chestnut didn't exactly look like a natural that day. Stepping up in trip now should help Denis O'Regan's mount but he'll need to come on plenty to beat his twelve opponents.

O'Regan rode Diavoleria to score at Doncaster at odds of 33/1 a week back but there will be no such fancy prices about the Slip Anchor mare when she contests the 4.30, the Coca-Cola Handicap Hurdle.

No less than 17Ibs 'well-in' now, 3Ib claiming amateur Oliver Greenall takes the mount today in this extended two mile five furlong contest and if in the same form as seven days ago this likeable type is un-opposable.
