Nallen wins first juvenile hurdle for second year running Sent off the 11/10 favourite, the Dan King-ridden Minella Rockett won the Cappawhite Civil Engineering 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle over two miles which was the opener on Limerick's eight-race card. The New Bay gelding, from a talented Aga Khan-bred family, held the highest Flat rating of the nine hurdling debutants and raced prominently throughout, going on before the last to beat Sofi's Gift by a length and a-half.  Winning trainer John Nallen said "He is not huge in stature, but he jumps and is big in heart. We had this plan for him all year as we were lucky in this race last year (when held at Tipperary), so we said we'd go again. "He had a higher Flat rating than my winner (Minella Study) last year and he is a well-bred horse who is by a good sire. Corky (Carroll) had a lot of schooling done with him. "Options over hurdles are scarce for him now, so he can go back on the Flat where there is a good pot in him.  "He is a nice sharp horse, he doesn't know he is small and in fairness, they say the New Bays want soft ground so we'll see.
