Nannina Falmouth Bound Nannina could attempt to follow up her Coronation Stakes success in the UAE Equestrian Racing Federation Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. The three-year-old filly bounced back to form at Royal Ascot after being unplaced in the 1000 Guineas on rain-softened ground. John Gosden's charge may now take on older members of her generation in the Group One feature over a mile on July 12. 'She has come out of the race really well. Her form is rock solid on top of the ground,' Chris Richardson, managing director to owner-breeders the Cheveley Park Stud, told At The Races. 'Unfortunately we did have an inch and a half of rain before the 1000 Guineas otherwise things might have been different there, but she was still a bit wintry and we made that very clear to everybody. At Royal Ascot she showed the class and quality that she has. 'I suppose there is a possibility Mr and Mrs Thompson (owners of Cheveley Park Stud) may consider supplementing her for the Sussex Stakes but I would have thought the Falmouth would have been the logical answer. 'It's early days and we are still basking in the success of last week. She looks great. I saw her the day after the race, she had taken it in her stride.' The Falmouth also may also be considered for Cheveley Park's Peeress, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, but only if there is cut in the ground. 'The Falmouth is an option for her but I think the ground is a factor,' added Richardson. 'She is a better filly with a bit of ease and the ground would probably be the influencing factor.' The Lockinge Stakes winner was an unlucky in running fourth to Ad Valorem in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on ground considered too fast for her. ? PA Sport
