Nash hoping Milan can shine over trip in National trial James Nash is looking forward to seeing Forza Milan step up in trip in the Boylesports Grand National Trial at Punchestown on Sunday. The full-brother to Grand National hero One For Arthur chased home Carefully Selected over three miles in Grade 3 company at Naas on his most recent start. Nash is hopeful that stepping out another four furlongs in trip now will bring further improvement from the eight-year-old. The Milan gelding also holds an entry in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham and his handler feels the two races fall perfectly in the schedule. “The plan is to run on Sunday and he seems in great form,” said Nash. “We're hoping to run him in the 'four miler' at Cheltenham. “There is over four weeks from Sunday until that so it would be another bit of practice and it would be a great prep run not to mention the fact that it's a €100,000 race in it's own right. It's exciting to be a part of it. “We've been delighted with both his runs this season. We were very happy with his run at Fairyhouse, which was his first run for a long time, and he seemed to improve a bit again from that. “He's a full-brother to One For Arthur so we're hoping as we step up in trip he might keep improving. “For some reason it didn't happen for him over fences in England but he seems to have started to enjoy it now anyway and hopefully it will continue that way. “He appears to go on any ground but has won on very soft ground so rain wouldn't be a problem ahead of Sunday.”
