National next up for Tidal Bay Tidal Bay will head straight to the Crabbie's Grand National at Aintree on April 5 following his excellent run in defeat at Chepstow on Saturday. The 12-year-old defied his advancing years and top weight of 11st 12lb to be beaten just a head and half a length into third in the Coral Welsh National. Trainer Paul Nicholls has hailed his effort and confirmed all roads now lead to Aintree for Tidal Bay. He tweeted: "Tidal Bay & all other runners from yesterday fine today. Awesome run from the evergreen Tidal Bay who now goes straight to Aintree for Grand National."
